Funny isn’t it, how the speedier life gets, the more pressure mounts to do things the longer, slower way? Like cooking — you don’t get any respect unless you’re growing your own organic vegetables, microwaving absolutely nothing and cooking everything from scratch. Right?
Right. Funny.
Cooking dinner in the average household with kids is more like a marathon of hope. And now that summer’s here, no one wants to be tethered to the kitchen. Being outdoors with the family or friends or even tending to those organic vegetables during these precious summer days trumps spending hours in a hot kitchen.
